How Accessible is the Apple iPhone 3GS Smartphone for Visually Impaired?

24 August, 2009 by Peter Verhoeven

The Apple iPhone, seemed to be one of the most inaccessible smartphones, because of its TouchScreen.
But the latest iPhone model 3GS, is the first smartphone with a screen reader called VoiceOver.
In his blog Mark Taylor reviewed the Apple iPhone 3GS with regard to user accessibility for the blind and low vision.

Mark conclude that there is a very small learning curve with regard to basic navigation on the iPhone 3GS using the VoiceOver screen reader, but manual enter numbers and characters with the virtual keyboard on the ToucScreen will take a lot of time and, patience and continued practice.
